ABOUT
My printmaking practice has developed through my membership of Ochre Print Studio in Guildford and, in particular, my year as Artist in Residence in 2019. This allowed me to explore many different printmaking processes including Screen Printing, Etching, Collagraph and other Intaglio and Relief processes. Reduction Linocut is one of my favourites.
My subject matter draws on many influences including myths and legends, literature and silent films. I am interested in reducing the processes I use to their fundamentals to produce simple but singular or totemic images. I like to juxtapose the ordinary with the unexpected or primitive, and make the process itself a significant feature of the image.
